PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Rossetti reported that JH Landscaping has submitted 2 proposals for the area by the Big Y cut-through:

  1. clean out the brush and debris next to the fence by the old Dakota property for $2255.00
  2. remove and dump the 5 stumps, plant 3 5-foot Colorado Spruces at the bend in the path and     spread 1 ton of stone dust on the path for $3,315.00

JH also submitted a proposal to improve the old bus stop area:

Plant 5 Hollies and 2 Semi-dwarf PJ Rhododendrons and spread 7 tons of ¾ inch surge stone for $4,108.00.

Uzwack suggested that the bench and retaining wall receive another coat of paint.

Rossetti moved the Board approve the 3 proposals. The motion was seconded and passed.

2 bids were obtained for road and catch basin repairs throughout Pond Place, and to do special repairs on the catch basins under the culvert bridge and at 8 September Way. M&S Paving was selected as they were the lowest bidder. The proposal for the catch basins by the culvert bridge will not be voted on at this time as the sale of the property has not yet closed.

Proposal OPP-24-012726 is for removal and replacement of pavement and catch basins throughout Pond Place identified by Mike LaRosa as needing repair. LaRosa will supervise these repairs, which total $92,849.76.

Rossetti moved the board accept the proposal, and the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

A second proposal, OPP-24-015561, was submitted for the removal and replacement of 2 catch basins for $6,365.00. Rossetti moved the Board approve the proposal, and the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Uzwack will oversee this project as the new president, with guidance from Mike LaRosa.

Rossetti thanked Carol Shaw on behalf of the Board for her assisting Mike LaRosa in his obtaining measurements.

A proposal has been received from JS electrical of Plainville for $6,170.26 for the installation of a security light by the entrance to Big Y and adding 2 more pathway lights in the area.

A proposal to put the path and street lights on the same schedule to replace bulbs was received from JS Electrical, totaling $7,850.39. The Board would like a 2nd quote from West Hartford Electric, and Montgomery will obtain this.

Work has commenced on fixing the “swamp” area between Clover and Arrowhead. Work on the areas between Edgewood and Dove has been completed, but LaRosa is not satisfied and wants it improved. Work also is completed behind Owl Court.

MANAGER’S REPORT

Montgomery reported that W&K received a bill for $850.00 from Bedard Enterprises of Canton for the emergency removal of tree limbs from the roof of #9 September Way after the April storm. Discussion ensued as to who should pay the bill, and Montgomery will reach out to the absentee landlord.

With no other business or comments,

Meeting adjourned at 8:22 P.M.

Judith Larkin, Clerk
